Chamber of Commerce Attestation
The commercial equivalent of state verification — required before any business document can be legalised.
Commercial documents do not go through HRD or the Home Department. They are verified by a recognised Chamber of Commerce, which confirms that the company and the signatory are genuine before the MEA will attest the document.
For exporters this is routine but time-critical. A certificate of origin held up at the Chamber holds up a shipment, and demurrage costs accumulate daily. We handle Chamber attestation as a same-week service and can run it in parallel with the rest of the legalisation chain rather than sequentially.
Which Chamber matters. Some embassies accept attestation only from specific Chambers, so the Chamber must be matched to the destination before submission rather than chosen for convenience.
Who needs this
- Exporters shipping goods requiring a certificate of origin
- Companies registering a branch, subsidiary or trade licence overseas
- Businesses bidding for international tenders
- Firms sending powers of attorney or board resolutions abroad
- Manufacturers supplying free sale or health certificates to overseas regulators
Urgent export documentation
Chamber attestation alone can often be completed within one to three working days. If a shipment deadline is driving the timeline, tell us the date at the outset.
We will tell you honestly whether it is achievable rather than accepting the job and explaining afterwards. Where the full chain cannot be completed in time, it is sometimes possible to ship against a Chamber-attested document with the embassy stage following — but that depends entirely on your buyer and their customs authority, and it is a decision for you, not us.
Getting the paperwork right first time
Chamber rejections are almost always about the company file rather than the document itself: an unregistered signatory, a missing board resolution, letterhead that does not match the registration, or an expired import-export code.
We check the whole file before submitting, which is why our commercial documents rarely come back. Send us scans first and we will tell you what is missing before anything moves.
What we need from you
- The original commercial document on company letterhead
- A covering letter signed by an authorised signatory
- Company registration documents — incorporation certificate, GST registration
- An import-export code certificate, for export documentation
- A board resolution authorising the signatory, where required
